Just a note of thanks for a wonderful stay at your inn. Now I know exactly what all the fuss is about. We travel New York City several times a year but we've never enjoyed any stay quite like we did this one. Your efforts are recognized and greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking us into your bed and breakfast and allowing it to feel like ours for four nights.

Location: Steps away from upscale grocery and gourmet stores, excellent neighborhood cafes and restaurants, Central Park, Museum Mile, Broadway, and the subway, Country Inn the City is in the heart of what must be Manhattan's most desirable and convenient area to stay in. 2. Charm: After a full day on our feet of going to museums, shopping, dining, and exploring New York, coming "home" to our lovely apartment was an equally pleasurable experience. Imagine having your own well-appointed apartment to unwind in, including a four-poster bed, plush, comfy loveseat, and fully-stocked kitchen, original art, and shelves of books and current magazines. 3. Princely attention to details: After a day in your apartment, you will think to yourself, "They have thought of everything!" Our kitchen was lovingly stocked with ground coffee, tea, sugar, cream, jams and jellies, milk, cereal, and an assortment of fresh fruit. A toaster awaited bagels from the neighborhood purveyor, and the coffee maker made the most delicious brew! There was even a pen and pad to write grocery lists with, as well as takeout menus from the many fine restaurants in the area. Owner Fergus O'Brien considers your every comfort.
Our trip to New York was one of the best we've ever had, and we're sure that staying at Country Inn the City had a lot to do with it! Just thought you would like to know that my husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at Country Inn the City last week (we stayed in Apartment 2). The warmth and spaciousness of the apartment were wonderful after entire days spent out and about in Manhattan. My husband and I stayed way back in June – and I’ve finally got around to writing to you!
I just wanted to say what a wonderful stay we had at the Inn – for our first time in New York we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to stay nor a more fantastic neighbourhood to wander round and explore. We ate in two of the recommended breakfast diners, which were spot on, as was the Chinese!
Fergus – thank you for your call before check-out, it was much appreciated and just another reminder (as if we needed it) of the joys of staying ‘local’ rather than in a charmless chain... It was so nice to arrive to a calm, reassuring welcome after the madness that is JFK! Needless to say, we plan to return to NYC – we both hugely enjoyed our short time in Manhattan and can’t wait to explore it even further. And of course we’ll be returning to the Inn. The apartment was fabulous, and the neighbourhood couldn't have been nicer.
